Sportscape Education’s workshops help Level 3 Outdoor Learning Specialist apprentices gain hands-on experience
In the field of outdoor education, continuous professional development is crucial for success.
At Sportscape Education, we offer a comprehensive Level 3 Outdoor Learning Specialist programme designed to equip our learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
A key component of this programme is the monthly full-day workshops where learners travel to various locations to share best practices and gain hands-on experience.
Diverse learning environments
The programme is designed to provide diverse learning environments, enriching the educational experience.
Each month, our apprentices visit different outdoor venues, including:
Mount Cook: Known for its challenging terrains and breathtaking views, Mount Cook offers an excellent setting for learning mountaineering skills and risk management;
Astbury Watersports Centre: This location provides a perfect backdrop for mastering water-based activities such as kayaking, sailing, and paddleboarding;
Audley Climbing Centre: A hub for climbing enthusiasts, Audley Climbing Centre focuses on developing technical climbing skills and safety protocols;
Chasewater Activity Centre: With its wide array of activities, Chasewater is ideal for honing skills in team-building exercises and adventure sports.
The value of shared practice
One of the standout features of our workshops is the opportunity for learners to share practices.
By observing peers and mentors in various settings, apprentices can acquire new techniques, strategies, and approaches that they can incorporate into their own instructional styles.
This collaborative learning environment fosters a sense of community and support among learners, enhancing their overall development.
