Sportscape Education apprentices find out how to get funding for community sports activites as part of Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer apprenticeship

Our apprentices have been finding out how to get funding for sports activities in the community.

Craig Chorlton, Business and CSR Manager at Sports Coaching Group/ Sportscape Education, gave an a talk on funding as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) part of their Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer apprenticeship.

The session provided a comprehensive overview of navigating the financial landscape in the sports sector - a vital skill for aspiring leaders.

Craig highlighted how funding plays a key role in driving sporting activities across the UK, from grassroots programs to specialised initiatives for all age groups.

Whether it’s grants from Sport England, local council funding, or charitable trusts like the National Lottery Community Fund, understanding these opportunities is crucial for sustaining and expanding programmes like swimming, cricket, and other accessible activities.

Our apprentices gained a clearer understanding of how funding supports the development of inclusive and impactful sports programmes.

Craig’s practical advice and real-world examples shed light on how to effectively secure resources to make sports more accessible for everyone, from children taking their first swimming lessons to older adults staying active through cricket leagues.

Craig’s expertise will empower our apprentices to leverage these opportunities in their future careers.

At Sportscape Education, we are proud to deliver experiences that equip learners with the tools they need to thrive. With knowledge like this, our apprentices are one step closer to shaping the future of sports in their communities.
