Sportscape Education apprentices ‘real world’ learning at Wingate Centre which looks after individuals with special educational needs and disabilities

At Sportscape Education, we believe in the power of continuous professional development (CPD) and life skills enhancement for our apprentices.

These sessions not only contribute to their off-the-job hours, but also foster critical skill development.

Recently, we had the privilege of taking our Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship cohort to the Wingate Centre, in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The Wingate Centre provides residential, sports and recreational amenities designed to cater to individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Here, they have the opportunity to engage in physical activities, enhance their health, and improve their mental wellbeing.

Our partnership with the Wingate Centre has given us the unique chance to witness the fantastic work they do first-hand.

The environment they've cultivated is a testament to their dedication to inclusivity and empowerment.

They strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, has the chance to be active and thrive.

One of our apprentices reflected on their experience saying: "I really enjoyed working at Wingate, and I definitely learnt a lot while I was there. I thought it was a crucial CPD day."

This feedback underscores the value of these experiences in fostering both professional and personal growth.

These CPD days at the Wingate Centre are more than just training sessions, they are opportunities for our apprentices to broaden their horizons, gain new perspectives, and understand the profound impact they can make in the community.

We look forward to more enriching visits to the Wingate Centre and other similar institutions.

This is a critical part of our commitment to creating well-rounded, empathetic professionals who are equipped to meet the diverse needs of the communities they serve.
